DIY Stretch Mark Cream

unmelted butter

Every summer when the clothes come off, I obsess over these damn stretch marks I have all over. So instead of swooning over the idea of recreating Kanyebreast’s stretch mark recipe, I got off of my ass and did it. I followed her ingredient list almost to the letter. I swapped out the sunflower oil for calendula oil for its stretch mark killing capabilities ( it’s the main ingredient in Bio-Oil).
more melted

I started off by melting the solid raw butters in boiling water. I placed the raw ilipe, kokum and shea butters in a pot of boiling water and covered it with a lid (off the heat of course). I also melted the cocoa butter chips the same way. Sidenote: HAVE PATIENCE. Hot water and hot melted butter is dangerous.

oilsAfter pouring the melted butters into the stand mixer bowl, I dropped in a good squeeze of each oil. Since I eyeballed it, it was about two tablespoons each.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is great for the skin, so I pierced 4 capsules and dropped it in. Use this stuff, not the bottled liquid vitamin E… trust me, again.

I asked the originator of this concoction if there were any changes to the mix from the original post, and nope! Just like her i didn’t measure much. Beware, it is intensely moisturizing and you will need to massage it in for maximum absorption. Also, wait a while to put on your jeans.

Don't judge me for the extra Talenti jars I have collected!

Here is the finished product! I used all of the butters and filled the containers right back up. For a smooth application, I reccomend warming it up in your hands and then smoothing it over your skin right out of the shower.
